The Cisco ASR 1000 Series 40-Gbps Embedded Services Processor (ESP) is based on the innovative Cisco QuantumFlow Processor for next-generation forwarding and queuing in silicon. The Cisco ASR 1000 Series ESP is responsible for data-plane processing tasks, and all network traffic flows through them, enhancing a range of advanced services from service provider broadband and edge services to enterprise-level WAN aggregation and IP gateway services.
