NETGEAR M4500-48XF8C XSM4556 Series 48-Port 25G SFP28 8x100G 4Tbps Layer 3 MLAG Switch

The NETGEAR M4500-48XF8C is a managed switch from the M4500 Series, purpose-built for high-density AV-over-IP deployments and redundant spine-and-leaf architectures. It pairs with the M4500-32C in a complementary edge-and-core design: the 48XF8C serves as the access layer aggregating up to 320 AV-over-IP endpoints, while the 32C aggregates multiple 48XF8C switches at the core in larger installations. It provides 48 SFP28 ports defaulting to 10G and configurable up to 25G, alongside 8 QSFP28 ports defaulting to 100G and configurable down to 40G, 50G, or 4x25G/10G breakout. The switch delivers 4 Tbps of switching capacity with a full Layer 3 feature set including static and dynamic routing, BGP, OSPF, VRRP, VRF-Lite, and PIM-SM. IGMP Plus multicast ships preconfigured on VLAN 1, simplifying AV-over-IP system architecture without requiring PIM routing complexity. Dual 750W power supplies and 6 fans provide 1+1 and 4+2 redundancy respectively, with front-to-back airflow across the full-width 1U chassis. MLAG support enables active-active redundancy between spine switches in critical AV installations.
