Unlike the full-width M4300-48X sibling, which scales to a 128K MAC address table and 12,000 Layer 3 routes, this model supports a smaller 16K MAC table and 512 route table entries, reflecting its position as an entry point into the 10G tier. It provides 24 10GBase-T RJ45 ports (100M/1G/10G) alongside 4 shared 10GBase-X SFP+ ports, plus a dedicated 1G out-of-band Ethernet management port. The switch delivers 480 Gbps of non-blocking switching fabric and 357 Mpps of forwarding, with no PoE support on any port. Two half-width units can share a single rack space for redundant top-of-rack deployments, and Mix and Match stacking allows this model to stack with other 10G, 40G, or 1G M4300 switches using any 10G or 40G port and any media type. It provides a Layer 3 feature set including static, RIP, and OSPF routing, and is compatible with the APS250W modular power supply in its single modular bay.
