The Juniper Networks MX204 is a compact 1RU universal edge router from the MX Series, built for service provider edge, metro Ethernet, data center interconnect, and enterprise core deployments. Powered by the Junos Trio chipset, the MX204 delivers 400 Gbps throughput across four 100GbE QSFP28 ports and eight 10GbE SFP+ ports in a power-efficient 0.9W per Gbps design. Four orderable variants are available, the MX204-R ships as a complete system with Routing Engine included; the MX204-IR is a chassis with full L3 and MPLS capability with Routing Engine ordered separately; the MX204-HW-BASE is the base chassis platform; and the MX204-PREMIUM is the complete system with enhanced memory and additional software features.
