It adds four SFP56 uplink ports at speeds up to 50GbE, handles up to 248 Gb/s per module, and needs AOS-CX 10.09.1000 or later to run in a CX 6400 Series switch.

The HPE Aruba R0X39C is a v2 line module for CX 6400 Series modular switches, pairing 48 gigabit PoE ports with four SFP56 uplink ports. Compared with the R0X38C, which lacks SFP56 uplinks, and the R0X40C, which raises PoE to Class 6, this module combines Class 4 PoE with the uplinks. Each of the 48 RJ-45 ports negotiates 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps and supplies up to 30W of Class 4 PoE. The four SFP56 ports run at 1GbE, 10GbE or 25GbE with the right accessories and reach 50GbE with 50G DACs. Maximum module bandwidth is 248 Gb/s, and the chassis can deliver up to 2880W of PoE to each slot. Line module slots are numbered 3 through 7 on the CX 6405 and 3 through 12 on the CX 6410. This v2 module needs AOS-CX 10.09.1000 or later, while the original R0X39B needs only 10.04.1000. Slots configured with a v2 module will not take a v1 module until the slot configuration is cleared. Port, PoE and uplink LEDs sit beside the connectors, and the management module's LED Mode button selects what they show.
