The Fortinet FG-800C is a UTM firewall appliance from the FortiGate 800C line, built for mid-sized enterprises and large branch offices needing accelerated, hardware-based security in a 1U form factor. It combines firewall, application control, IPsec and SSL VPN, intrusion prevention, antivirus, antimalware, antispam, and web filtering into a single consolidated device. It provides 2 accelerated 10-GbE SFP+ interfaces alongside 12 accelerated Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 ports, 8 shared GbE SFP or copper interfaces, and 2 pairs of bypass-enabled ports that maintain network availability during a device failure, for 26 total network interfaces. The appliance delivers up to 20 Gbps of firewall throughput, 8 Gbps of IPsec VPN throughput, and 6 Gbps of IPS throughput, backed by FortiASIC Network, Security, and Content processors. It supports up to 7 million concurrent TCP sessions, 10,000 firewall policies, and up to 1,024 managed FortiAPs. The appliance includes 64GB of internal storage for WAN optimization, local reporting, or data archiving, plus a USB management port for setup via FortiExplorer. High availability configurations include Active/Active, Active/Passive, and clustering.
