Cisco Meraki MR46E-HW Wi-Fi 6 4x4:4 MU-MIMO External Antenna 2.98Gbps Wireless Access Point

The Cisco Meraki MR46E-HW is a quad-radio Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) indoor access point with six external RP-TNC antenna connectors, designed for high-density enterprise environments where custom antenna placement is required to address challenging RF conditions or specific coverage patterns. The external antenna design decouples antenna selection from the access point hardware, allowing IT teams to direct and optimize signal coverage for warehouses, clinics, retail floors, open offices, and other spaces where internal antennas are insufficient. The dual 4x4:4 MU-MIMO radios deliver up to 2,402 Mbps on 5 GHz and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz for a combined aggregate frame rate of 2.98 Gbps. OFDMA enables simultaneous uplink and downlink transmission to multiple clients, improving throughput efficiency in high-density client environments. Of the six RP-TNC connectors, four serve the dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz client radios, one serves the dedicated dual-band WIDS/WIPS and RF scanning radio, and one serves the BLE radio. The dedicated third radio performs continuous 24x7 rogue AP detection, wireless threat containment, and automated RF optimization without impacting client throughput. A fourth BLE 5.0 radio supports beacon and device scanning for location-aware applications. The single 2.5G multigigabit Ethernet port provides wired backhaul. Security features include WPA3, 802.1X, AES hardware encryption, Active Directory integration, and Layer 7 traffic shaping. Powered via 802.3at PoE+. Antennas sold separately.
