The Cisco Meraki MA-SFP-1GB-TX is a 1 Gigabit copper SFP transceiver module providing 1000BASE-T Ethernet connectivity over standard Cat5, Cat5e, or Cat6 unshielded twisted-pair copper cable up to 100 meters. The RJ-45 connector and SFP form factor make it hot-swappable and compatible with Meraki MS switches, MX security appliances, and select MR access points that support SFP copper modules. Operating at 1 Gbps full-duplex, the MA-SFP-1GB-TX enables copper Gigabit connectivity in SFP-equipped slots without requiring fiber optic cabling or transceivers. This is particularly useful for short-distance connections within a single building or between adjacent equipment racks where existing copper runs are already in place. The module complies with IEEE 802.3, IEEE 802.3ab, and SFP MSA SFF-8477 standards. Low power consumption supports high-density deployments.
