The Cisco C9500-16X-E is a core and aggregation switch from the Catalyst 9500 Series with 16 fixed 1/10G SFP/SFP+ ports, expandable via an optional network module. It delivers up to 480 Gbps of switching capacity and 360 Mpps of forwarding on UADP 2.0 silicon. It is the only model in the Catalyst 9500 family that supports network modules, distinguishing it from every other 9500 and 9500X switch.

The Cisco Catalyst C9500-16X-E is a 1U fixed core and aggregation switch featuring 16 x 1/10G SFP/SFP+ ports and an optional network module slot supporting the C9500-NM-8X (8 x 10G SFP+) or C9500-NM-2Q (2 x 40G QSFP+) for additional uplink flexibility. Built on the UADP 2.0 ASIC with a 4-core 2.4 GHz x86 CPU, 16 GB DDR4 memory, and 16 GB flash, the switch delivers 480 Gbps switching capacity and 360 Mpps forwarding performance. Table scale includes 64,000 MAC entries, 64,000 indirect and 80,000 host IPv4 routes, 32,000 indirect and 40,000 host IPv6 routes, and up to 512,000 Flexible NetFlow entries. Layer 2 and Layer 3 features include StackWise Virtual for active/active chassis redundancy, MACsec hardware encryption, SGT/TrustSec, VRF-Lite, MPLS L2/L3 VPNs, and full multicast support across 4,000 VLANs and SVIs. Dual 1+1 hot-swappable 950W AC or DC power supplies with front-to-back airflow and five field-replaceable fan trays are included. Managed via Cisco DNA Center, CLI, NETCONF/YANG, and streaming telemetry.
