The Cisco C9300-NM-4G is a 4-port 1G SFP uplink network module for Cisco Catalyst 9300 Series switches, configured as GigabitEthernet1/1/1 through GigabitEthernet1/1/4. Hot-swappable; no license required. Compatible with standard C9300 (non-X) switches and Catalyst 3850; not compatible with C9300X models or C9300L. The Cisco Catalyst C9300-NM-4G is a 4-port 1G SFP uplink module for the Catalyst 9300 Series modular uplink switches, providing flexible fiber or copper Gigabit Ethernet uplink connectivity via standard SFP optics. The module installs into the single network module slot available on C9300 modular uplink models and is hot-swappable, allowing insertion and removal without taking the switch offline. Supported SFP optics include multimode and single-mode fiber at 1000BASE-SX and 1000BASE-LX, as well as 1000BASE-T copper SFPs, giving administrators flexible uplink options to the distribution or core layer without requiring additional hardware purchases. The C9300-NM-4G is backward compatible with Catalyst 3850 switches in addition to the full C9300 modular uplink portfolio, making it a flexible choice when migrating infrastructure between generations. All packet processing, switching, QoS, ACL enforcement, and security functions are handled entirely by the host switch's UADP ASIC, so the module itself contributes no forwarding latency beyond the physical interface.
