Cisco A9K-RSP440-TR ASR 9000 440G Packet Transport 6GB DRAM Dual SSD Route Switch Processor

The Cisco A9K-RSP440-TR is a Route Switch Processor for the Cisco ASR 9000 Series, serving as the main system processor for carrier grade edge routing platforms. It is optimized for packet transport applications with 6GB of ECC protected DRAM, while its A9K-RSP440-SE sibling offers 12GB of memory, essential for large scale, comprehensive service edge deployments with higher dimensional scale requirements. The processor delivers 440 Gbps of switching fabric capacity per slot, with dual RSP support for 1 plus 1 redundancy in demanding service provider networks. Storage includes two 16GB solid state drives plus an 8GB embedded USB for additional utility and local file management. Network connectivity runs through 2 10 Gigabit Ethernet SFP+ ports, with SFP modules sold separately. Management access spans a console port, an auxiliary port, 2 management LAN ports, a USB port, and dedicated synchronization and alarm interfaces for timing critical deployments. The processor is compatible with the full range of ASR 9000 modular chassis, including the 9006, 9010, and 9922, and works with the complete ecosystem of modular line cards and MPAs. Both transport and service optimized line cards can be mixed on the same chassis, giving network designers significant deployment flexibility. Running Cisco IOS XR Software, the processor supports distributed forwarding and control planes, along with BFD and Ethernet OAM for improved network resilience.
