The Cisco A9K-48X10GE-1G-TR is a dual-rate line card for the ASR 9000 Series, built for high density 10 and 1 Gigabit Ethernet aggregation. The "TR" designates this card for packet transport optimized applications, distinguishing it from the identical-hardware A9K-48X10GE-1G-SE sibling, which is instead optimized for service edge deployments. It provides 48 SFP/SFP+ ports that can each run at 10 Gigabit or 1 Gigabit Ethernet, with support for mixed-rate configurations across the same card. The card is designed for 400 Gbps of throughput and can operate in an oversubscription mode up to 480 Gbps, with graceful packet redistribution across all ports under oversubscribed conditions. Fully populating an ASR 9922 chassis with these line cards delivers up to 960 ports of 10 Gigabit or 960 ports of 1 Gigabit Ethernet in a single system. The card is fully compatible with every ASR 9000 Series modular chassis and runs on Cisco IOS XR Software.
