Cisco ASR1002 ASR 1000 Series 2RU 4x SFP 20Gbps Built-In RP1 Carrier-Grade IOS Router

The Cisco ASR1002 is a router from the ASR 1000 Series, built for carrier-grade IP and MPLS packet network infrastructures at the Internet edge and in enterprise cores. It shares identical hardware with the ASR1002-F sibling, which is constrained to 2.5 Gbps of throughput, while this base model reaches the platform's full upgradeable throughput ceiling of 20 Gbps. It provides 4 built-in SFP ports alongside 3 expansion slots for additional interface modules, housed in a 2RU chassis measuring 3.5 x 17.25 x 22.50 inches. The router includes a built-in Route Processor 1, with 8GB of storage partitioned into 1GB of bootflash and 7GB of mass storage. As the central control processor, the RP1 runs the Cisco IOS XE network operating system, provides advanced routing capabilities, and monitors and manages the router's other components. The chassis mounts in a standard 19-inch rack, with an optional 23-inch Telco adapter bracket available for central office deployments.
