The Arista DCS-7060DX4-32-F is a 400G spine switch from the 7060X4 Series, purpose built for AI, ML, and hyperscale cloud data center fabrics. It shares identical performance with its DCS-7060PX4-32-F sibling, the two differing only in port interface: this DX4 model uses QSFP-DD connectors while the PX4 model uses OSFP, letting buyers choose based on their existing optics ecosystem. It provides 32 fixed 400 Gigabit Ethernet QSFP-DD ports alongside 2 fixed SFP+ ports, with each 400G port flexible enough to run at 200G, 100G, 50G, or 40G through breakout cabling. Throughput reaches 25.6 Tbps with a forwarding rate of 8 billion packets per second, and latency runs as low as 700 nanoseconds in cut-through mode. A shared 64MB packet buffer with dynamic allocation absorbs traffic bursts more effectively than switches with fixed per port buffering. The switch is built on a high performance x86 CPU with 8GB of system memory and 8GB of flash storage, supporting user applications running in a virtual machine directly on the switch. This model ships with front-to-rear airflow only, using hot-swappable, 1 plus 1 redundant power supplies and 5 hot-swappable, N plus 1 redundant fans for continuous operation. The switch runs Arista EOS, supporting 128-way ECMP, Multi-Chassis Link Aggregation, and advanced congestion management features purpose built for NVMe and AI workload traffic patterns.
