The HPE Aruba S0M85A is a managed switch from the Aruba CX 6200F Series, built for enterprise branch offices, campus networks, and growing businesses. This model doubles the PoE budget of its closest sibling, the S0M84A, delivering 740W of Class 4 PoE power across the same 48 ports instead of 370W, giving it headroom for denser or higher powered PoE deployments. It provides 48 10/100/1000BASE-T ports supporting up to 30W per port, alongside 4 additional 100M/1G SFP ports for uplink flexibility. Switching capacity reaches 176 Gbps with a forwarding rate of up to 130.9 Mpps, backed by a 32,768 entry MAC address table. A quad core ARM Cortex A72 processor running at 1.8GHz powers Layer 3 switching, VXLAN switch to switch tunnels, and Aruba Dynamic Segmentation for automated, role based network policies. Automated device profiling and Layer 7 firewall features add visibility and control at the access layer. The switch uses a fixed power supply and fixed fans, with console access through USB-C, RJ45, or a dedicated out of band management port.
