The Cisco Meraki Z4-HW is a cloud managed teleworker gateway from the Meraki Z-Series, built to extend enterprise class security and networking to remote and home office locations. Unlike the Z4C sibling, which adds CAT12 cellular failover for locations without reliable wired internet, the Z4-HW relies on its single Gigabit Ethernet WAN port alone, making it the right fit for home offices with dependable broadband. It includes 4 Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports, one of which supports PoE for powering VoIP phones or other connected devices directly. Built in dual band 2x2 Wi-Fi 6 delivers office like wireless performance for dense, demanding home network environments. The gateway delivers up to 500 Mbps of firewall throughput and 250 Mbps of site to site VPN throughput using Meraki Auto VPN for self healing, always on encrypted connections. Security features include Cisco AMP, ThreatGrid, and content filtering to protect internet traffic at the source. Management runs entirely through the Meraki cloud dashboard, with true zero touch provisioning and smartphone like firmware updates. An active Meraki license is required to activate and manage the gateway on the dashboard.
