The Cisco CFP2-WDM-D-1HL is a Digital CFP2-DCO coherent pluggable optical module supporting software-selectable modulation between 100G QPSK, 200G 8-QAM, and 200G 16-QAM on the same physical transceiver, enabling flexible reach and rate configuration without hardware changes. The module integrates both the DSP and coherent transceiver directly into the pluggable itself, unlike earlier analog CFP2 designs that required a separate line-card-resident DSP. Tunable across the full C-band spectrum (1528.77nm to 1568.36nm) with grid-less tuning to any 50GHz-spaced channel, supporting up to 96 channels for dense wavelength division multiplexing deployments. Reaches up to 80km over single-mode fiber via an LC connector. Enables IP-over-DWDM transport, eliminating the need for external transponders in many metro and long-haul network designs.
