Cisco ASR-9001-S ASR 9000 Series Compact 2RU 60Gbps Fabric 4x10GE 8GB RSP Edge Router

The Cisco ASR-9001-S is a compact provider edge router from the ASR 9000 Series, built on the same Cisco IOS XR software image as the rest of the ASR 9000 platform for standardized deployment across a carrier network. It sits below the base ASR-9001 model, which ships with 120 Gbps of fabric capacity by default, while this "-S" variant delivers 60 Gbps of nonblocking, full-duplex fabric capacity out of the box in the same compact 2RU chassis. It provides an integrated Route Switch Processor with 8GB of RAM, capable of holding several million routes, making the router suitable for use as a dedicated route-reflector appliance. The base chassis includes 4 integrated 10 Gigabit Ethernet Enhanced SFP+ ports, a GPS input for Stratum 1 clocking, Building Integrated Timing Supply ports, and dedicated management ports. Two modular bays support 1, 10, and 40 Gigabit Ethernet Modular Port Adapters for flexible interface expansion. Supported applications include Layer 2 and Layer 3 VPN, IPTV, content delivery networks, mobile backhaul transport, and broadband network gateway deployments. Site-to-site IPsec VPN is not currently supported on the ASR-9001-S platform, a limitation specific to this variant.
