The Cisco 15454-SMR2-LIC is a 40-channel Single-Module ROADM card for the Cisco ONS 15454 Multiservice Transport Platform, shipped in a license-restricted configuration supporting 10 active channels on the express ports. The LIC suffix designates the license-restricted variant of the 40-SMR2-C card. The full 40-channel hardware capability is present on the card and can be expanded via permanent licenses purchased in 10-channel increments. The SMR2 card integrates four functional blocks onto a single line card: the optical service channel add/drop filter, a preamplifier, a booster amplifier (dual EDFA), and a 4x1 WXC-based ROADM core operating on the ITU 100-GHz wavelength plan in the C-band. LC connectors provide interconnection, an MPO connector interfaces with the Mesh Patch Panel, and a 0-dB LC/LC loopback is included for use where no dispersion compensating unit is required. An SMR2-based Degree-4 node delivers 400 Gbps across two shelves or 120 Gbps in a single shelf. Per-channel automatic power control and Wavelength Path Provisioning enable end-to-end point-and-click wavelength provisioning. Runs on Cisco Transport Planner and CTC.
