The ASIC handles MPLS, VPLS and ACL processing at line rate, which supports L2VPN, L3VPN and H-VPLS services. Per-class metering, bidirectional packet and byte counters, Layer 2 CFM, Layer 3 IP SLAs and MPLS OAM provide service assurance. Timing relies on IEEE 1588v2 and SyncE, and four dry-contact alarm inputs report external site conditions. Two hot-swappable power supplies run in 1+1 redundancy on AC or DC, each rated at 250W, and a removable fan tray swaps without shutting the router down.
