Each QSFP port runs at 100GbE or 40GbE and can break out to 50GbE, 25GbE or 10GbE, up to a system maximum of 128 ports. The two SFP+ ports handle 1GbE and 10GbE links for lower-speed connections. The switch is built on a single system-on-chip, with latency from 450 ns and a forwarding rate of 4.2 billion packets per second. A 42 MB packet buffer with dynamic buffer allocation sits alongside a dual-core x86 CPU, 8 GB of system memory and 30 GB of flash storage. Two hot-swap AC power supplies run in a 1+1 redundant arrangement, and four hot-swap fan modules run N+1 redundant, all of them rear-to-front airflow parts.
